Lives & Our World Forever Changed

Senior testimonies At Large group inspire underclassmen to trust God for love and provision. They proclaim they’ve been changed through struggling, Healing, and growing and are sent out with God’s love.

Into the land I will show you…

Seniors attending Camp had the opportunity to study the life of Abram in Genesis. InterVarsity staff Danny Greenawalt and I led students through times of study, praise and reflection on God’s promises to us over our lifetimes.  We talked extensively about the value remembering God’s promises while aiming to act faithfully in daily life especially in the unknown of the world after college. Abram experienced abundance and scarcity, traveled with and without family, had to make hard choices that would affect his future, but through it all continued in relationship with God and all let God bless him in new ways beyond his imagination, changing our world forever. Following our Father Abraham, our seniors leave trusting God for direction and provision for each step of their journey. They, like Abraham, seek to live as blessed to be a blessing to our local and global communities.

Megan’s Next Steps…

Ministry at York this year has been a wonderful adventure. It’s been an honor to walk with students as they’ve learned new ways to pray, taken on new leadership, and shared personally. However, I feel God turning the pages to my story once again. I feel God calling me away from InterVarsity to fully prepare for a new area of ministry he will reveal to me as I finish seminary classes at Lancaster Theological in Dec. 2013. As of June 30, I will also start a new phase of life as I marry my best friend, Tim Lester, and we begin this new adventure together.

A Note from Evan Smith:
Working with Megan has been wonderful! Her compassion, contagious joy, and unfailing love of students have inspired me and students both. Of particular note was her work with Alex, a new leader. Alex is a young woman filled with potential, but hobbled by a fear of vulnerability and “real” relationships. Though discipling Alex was challenging, Megan stayed with her long after others would have given up. Megan’s commitment to Alex has transformed her, and Alex is now on a path to healthier, more Christ-reflective friendships. I’m grateful for all that Megan has done for Alex and our whole chapter at York, sad that she’s been called elsewhere, and so excited to see where God puts her special talents to work next!
